In 2010 Jeff Laping was named the 2009-10 Coaching Manitoba School Coach of the Year. According to the press release, "Jeff is one of basketball's most active coaches in Manitoba." Jeff has served as the President of the Manitoba Basketball Coaches Association and has coached in the Manitoba Provincial Team program and in Canada Basketball's Centre for Performance program.

In the 2007 Yearbook his players called him Jeff "The Iceman" Laping.
The 2010 chapter for the Crusader basketball team has not been fully written. The story to date, however, is inspiring.
And, as their motto for the 2017-18 says, they've done it : TOEGETHER.
