Fun Fact!

During the 1930s and 1940s, intramural games were played on Saturdays and Sundays. This ensured that the sport would not interfere with school day activities and that the borders were able to participate in weekend events.

Class Competition

1956 Intramural Championships

St. Paul's College introduced the intramural football program in the late 1930s as more students became interested in the sport. The intramural league, during these early years, was composed of class teams and divided into junior (Grade 9) and senior (Grade 10 and 11) divisions. A member of the faculty coached and mentored each team.
Many intramural athletes used the experience to train for their time on the competitive Crusaders teams.
By the 1970s, the intramural league was taken over by George Dawson. In this role, he organized the schedule, refereed the games, and acted as league commissioner. This structure allowed for both student and teacher participation and encouraged a sense of competition and camaraderie within the school.
This program continued into the 21st century with few changes as the sport and school evolved.
